Transitional Facilities Correctional Case Manager

The North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (ND DOCR) is hiring a Correctional Case Manager at the Missouri River Correctional Center (MRCC) in Bismarck, ND. This is a unique opportunity to support public safety and rehabilitation in your community.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team. As a Correctional Case Manager , you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, secure, and rehabilitative environment. This position provides case management services to individuals at MRCC, a minimum‑custody facility, as well as those placed in contract facilities and county jails.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct resident interviews to assess risk levels and individual needs.

Assist residents in setting personal goals and supporting their progress toward positive change.

Monitor and document all resident progress and behavior.

Collaborate regularly with DOCR staff, law enforcement, social services, and other community partners to ensure coordinated care.

Provide recommendations on resident movement between housing units, DOCR facilities, and contract placements.

Coordinate with parole and probation officers, treatment providers, mental health counselors, and external agencies to address resident needs and mitigate risk factors.

Maintain and update inmate records and compile case information for the Parole Board.

Assist residents in addressing legal matters prior to release, including child support, custody issues, warrants, and detainers.

Develop individualized release plans and support coordination with DOCR and other correctional agencies, including halfway house placements and supervision requirements.

Complete and submit offender registration documentation in compliance with NDCC 12.1‑32‑15 and initiate legal proceedings as necessary.

Facilitate evidence‑based programming, including Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS).

Travel may be required for this position.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role you must have a bachelor's degree and two years of work experience in corrections, law enforcement, security, or related military. OR a High School diploma or GED and six years of work experience in corrections, law enforcement, security, or related military, with at least four years of experience in corrections. College‑level coursework may replace experience on a year‑for‑year basis, up to two years.
