Overview Hecker Fink LLP is seeking a Supervisory Case Manager to lead the Firm’s case-management team. Reporting to the Firm’s Director of Case Management, this position is an exciting opportunity to take initiative and play an impactful role in continuing to build our team.
Base pay range : $125,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr. This range is provided by Hecker Fink LLP. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
This role is based in the New York or Washington DC area and will be available to work 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities Assist with the management of the Firm’s expanding team of Case Managers and Senior Case Managers. Direct and supervise litigation-support work, staff assignments, and training to support case teams through all stages of litigation from investigation through trial and appeal.
Coordinate daily case management services by assigning matters, balancing workloads, and ensuring adequate coverage and workflow efficiency.
Work with the Director of Case Management to address personnel or performance issues among team members.
Participate in performance evaluations and help develop expectations and goals for case management staff.
Develop training materials and provide coaching and mentoring to assigned staff as needed.
Prepare for depositions, conferences, and hearings, including compiling documents and managing logistical and technical details.
Support trial preparation and execution by organizing and tracking exhibits, preparing legal documents, coordinating remote trial office logistics, and liaising with vendors and courtroom personnel.
Stay up to date on trends in litigation support and eDiscovery; implement best practices to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, correspondence, and case-related materials as directed by supervising attorney.
Participate in recruitment processes, including reviewing resumes and interviewing to identify top talent aligned with firm goals.
Other special projects and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and at least 7-8 years of litigation-support experience required. At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a litigation-specific role at a law firm preferred. The role requires excellent writing, research, analytics, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge and Skills: Exceptional working knowledge of litigation case-management principles and common research tools. Tech-savvy with advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
Clear Communication and Attention to Detail: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
Ownership, Initiative, and Teamwork: Self-starter who takes ownership of projects and follows through; strong customer-service orientation and ability to work well within a team.
Organization and Project Management: Ability to balance tasks of varying urgency and complexity; works well under pressure with tight deadlines.
Flexibility: Availability after hours to assist with case-management issues; adaptable to changing responsibilities and team needs; collaborative approach to priorities.
Confidentiality: Able to adhere to firm policies on protecting confidential data; good judgment with confidential attorney, personnel, and firm matters.
Mission Orientation: Enthusiastic about civil rights and public interest law; work connected to the firm’s mission.
