Sunset Dental Care is looking to hire a personable Dental Patient Care Coordinator to ensure that dental patients’ appointments are appropriately scheduled. The responsibilities of this position include entering patient information into our data system, answering patients’ questions, and arranging referrals to other dental specialists.

To be successful as a Dental Patient Care Coordinator, you should be able to organize and maintain patient waiting areas as well as front-desk areas. A top-performing candidate will perform their duties in a manner that ensures the efficient running of the dental practice. An ideal candidate is someone looking to start a career in dentistry.

Current office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Looking for full time, but could be able to accommodate part time for the right candidate.

Dental Receptionist Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice.
  • Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed.
  • Assisting patients to fill out information forms.
  • Preparing patients’ charts and daily schedules for the dental staff.
  • Updating patient medical records and documenting recent treatments and procedures.
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders, if necessary.
  • Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed.
  • Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, scanning & filing, and faxing.
  • Verifying insurance and submitting insurance information to our claims department

Dental Receptionist Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in office administration, dental administration, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of dental terminology is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of general administrative practices.
  • Professional telephone etiquette.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
