Overview This clinician works in collaboration with the Jail Diversion Case Manager, the Behavioral Health Coordinator, and the Aid and Assist Coordinator to identify clients in jail or the community who present with symptoms of Mental Health and/or Addictions and who express a desire for recovery, are involved in the Aid and Assist Program, or are involved in Behavioral Health Court. This position will provide Behavioral Health Assessments for program referrals; diagnose mental health and/or addictions problems; develop and coordinate treatment plans for individuals present for treatment all specific to the specialty court setting. This position will also provide support and case management to individuals in supported housing environments or who are transitioning out of supported housing and into independent living environments.
Responsibilities Monitor, coordinate & oversee all activities within the three specialty court programs, including appropriately allocating funds to cover needed resources.
Complete Behavioral Health Assessments including ASAM criteria for level of care recommendations.
Communicate and collaborate with community partners including the courts, defense attorneys, jail staff, law enforcement, and parole /probation.
Communicate and collaborate with housing coordinators and community housing resources to support individuals transitioning in and out of supported housing environments, and into independent living environments.
Work outside of office hours to provide crisis support coverage for Crisis Team when needed (i.e., sick leave, vacation, etc.).
You must become familiar with community resources and community partners to identify resources that are already in place and identify gaps in resources that might be appropriate for utilizing Specialty Court related funds.
Required Education and Experience Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related field. QMHP status.
Supervision or management experience required
Preferred Education & Experience Bilingual — Spanish
Knowledge of the legal system, working with the courts & defense attorneys preferred.
Knowledge of working within the jail/prison system preferred.
Experience with electronic medical records system
