Specialty Care Coordinator – Ridgeview
Purpose of the Job: The role coordinates Specialty Care patients, managing requests for incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, and acts as a liaison between health plans, patients, and providers.

Job Functions

Assure accurate processing of patient registration.

Accurately schedule patient appointments according to clinic policy.

Coordinate insurance referral actions and pre‑certifications.

Coordinate care with Ridgeview Patient Financial Services.

Coordinate requests for release of medical information.

Assist with coordination of completion of medical forms.

Continually self‑educate to stay informed of changes within the care system guidelines.

Serve as a liaison between patients, insurance companies, and providers.

Coordinate with the Clinic Staffing Department coverage for current and upcoming shifts based on established guidelines and needs.

Coordinate inpatient and outpatient services including imaging, lab, procedures, surgeries, etc.

Ensure that all Specialty Care services have been captured and that documentation, coding and billing have been completed for each service.

Collect and report statistics as needed.

Perform administrative support duties as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.

Strong customer service experience.

Attention to detail.

Two years’ healthcare experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to multi‑task.

Ability to meet and maintain necessary background checks aligned with position functions.

Ability to communicate in English for effective written and verbal correspondence.

Ability to perform basic math functions and handle cash.

Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner.

Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations.

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Capacity for independent decision‑making using good critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.

Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Knowledge of ICD‑10 coding.

Ability to prioritize workload according to medical necessity.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience in specialty care.

Qualifications as a Nursing Assistant, CMA, or LPN.

Compensation
Pay is determined by position requirements, experience, education, knowledge, skills, location, and internal equity. Shift, weekend, and differential pay not included in the listed amount.
