Overview Senior IT Nursing Informatics Advocate (25012043)
Schedule: Full Time
Responsibilities Mentor/coach staff and facilitate opportunities to advance knowledge and experiences to optimize professional growth of less experienced staff.
Collaborate with clinicians to design, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain clinical applications and other associated systems.
Lead projects of advanced complexity independently and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Coordinate with end users to analyze and document clinical workflows, perform gap analyses, identify needed process changes, and develop future workflows during implementation.
Serve as liaison between Nursing and AIT to achieve clinical operations goals and identify opportunities for process improvement related to specified systems.
Provide 24/7 on-call support to nursing departments for clinical applications and participate in on-call lead support when assigned.
Assist with executing change management strategies and maintain project schedules, communicating status to system leadership and project teams.
Act as a resource for clinical information systems, maintaining thorough knowledge of the computer system and representing clinical perspectives in system implementations.
Deliver training materials and education on new applications or functionality; conduct in-person and virtual training and track education/competency completions.
Collaborate with impacted departments, hospital leadership, end users, vendors, and committees to ensure effective and efficient operations and workflow.
Support risk and quality assurance management, escalate unresolved problems appropriately, and facilitate system issue resolution with AIT and operational leadership.
Prepare strategic presentations and clearly communicate changes to site contacts and team members.
Travel nationally to support major implementations; work off-duty shifts as needed to support AdventHealth operations.
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills Required:
Leadership, initiative, organization, self-direction
Mentoring/training experience
Industry experience with electronic medical records
Advanced clinical knowledge of current healthcare practice and workflows; ability to train users with different learning styles
Ability to map clinical processes, analyze data, and present to clinical audiences
Professional written and verbal communication with defined escalation
Conflict management skills; accountability for goals and metrics
Analytical problem-solving and decision-making
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
Microsoft Office proficiency
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Experience with Epic or other EMR systems
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing at hire/promotion or within 36 months
Minimum of five years total nursing clinical and informatics experience
Recent experience with health information technology
Education and Experience Preferred:
Master of Science in Nursing or Healthcare Informatics
Professional organization membership related to job responsibilities
Experience supporting applications used by Nursing
Experience troubleshooting software issues to resolution
Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:
Current valid licensed registered nurse in state of primary work locale
Current valid driver’s license in state of primary work locale
Completion of one professional certification relevant to field (e.g., ANCC Informatics, CAHIMS, CPHIMS) within three years and maintenance thereof
