RN Care Coordinator - Pediatric Pulmonology Job Description Summary The RN Care Coordinator reports to the Ambulatory Service Manager and coordinates care for pediatric patients within the Pediatric Pulmonology service across Children’s Hospital units and MUSC Pediatric Clinics. The role facilitates care through clinic participation, individualized goal‑directed nursing care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and education and discharge teaching to meet patient, staff, and organizational outcomes.
Responsibilities Coordinate clinical care within all clinics to maximize safety, satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
Facilitate clinic participation and individualized care utilizing nursing process principles.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to achieve desired results.
Assume responsibility for educational programs and discharge teaching.
Minimum Education and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
Three years of related nursing experience.
Registered nurse licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or an approved compact state.
BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required.
Current certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the ANA may be required.
Physical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outdoors, working from elevated areas, operating in confined spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, gripping, manipulating, reaching overhead, repetitive hand/wrist/shoulder motions, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted.
