The Quality Improvement Specialist collaborates with leadership to lead quality & safety initiatives, utilizing project management, process mapping, data-driven strategies, and evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and quality outcomes. The role involves identifying improvement opportunities, leading safety projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include:
Leading and facilitating teams focused on quality & safety initiatives.
Identifying improvement priorities based on evidence and regulatory requirements.
Promoting event reporting and transparency.
Implementing data-driven strategies and utilizing quality scorecards.
Providing expert guidance and mentorship in patient safety & quality improvement.
Developing and reporting on quality & safety metrics.
Analyzing event reports and ensuring proper follow-up.
Participating in safety huddles and root cause analyses.
Ensuring compliance with standards from agencies like The Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and others.
Mentoring team members and coordinating improvement projects.
Advancing safety science and sharing lessons learned through presentations and publications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Excellent communication skills.
NPSF CPPS certification within one year of hire.
Preferred:
Master's degree or professional certification.
Experience in performance improvement, statistics, or clinical research.
Knowledge of regulatory standards like The Joint Commission.
Licenses & Certifications:
Certified Professional in Patient Safety (preferred).
