This is a future opening. STGi is seeking qualified candidates for this position in connection with an active Request for Proposals (RFP). Hiring for this role is contingent upon STGi's selection as the successful awardee.
Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct the facility's quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) program.
Essential Functions
Ensure multidisciplinary QAPI activities within the facility meet established requirements.
Establish and implement comprehensive, data‑driven QAPI programs focused on systems of care, outcomes of care, quality of life, and resident and staff satisfaction.
Develop the five elements of a QAPI program and coordinate required activities.
Evaluate programs and implement changes as necessary to improve programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Communicate revised plans and changes to facility management and governing body.
Develop and implement appropriate action plans to correct identified quality deficiencies.
Submit necessary forms and reports to the Administrator as required.
Schedule QAPI Committee meetings at least quarterly and notify members.
Maintain a reference library of QAPI materials, laws, etc., to comply with current standards.
Provide reports and recommendations to the Administrator regarding QAPI program operation.
Assume authority, responsibility and accountability for directing the QAPI department.
Review facility quality measures and survey reports to identify potential problem areas and report to committee.
Proactively identify concerns for non‑compliance, develop plan, measurement, training and follow‑up; document initiatives.
Participate in facility surveys as directed.
Serve as chairperson of the QAPI Committee.
Meet with QAPI Committee monthly to review assessment tools, data collection, reports and activities affecting resident care and safety.
Serve on various facility committees (pharmacy, safety, resident care, policy advisory) as appointed.
Assist other committees and departments in developing monitoring tools, criteria, standards, assessment methodologies and evaluation of priority concerns affecting resident care and safety.
Implement recommendations from the QAPI Committee related to the quality assurance program.
Attend and participate in annual facility in‑service training programs (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, abuse prevention, infection prevention and control).
Required Skills and Experience
Previous experience in clinical health care with direct experience in quality assurance and performance improvement.
Ability to make independent, timely decisions when circumstances warrant.
Supportive team member, contributing to teamwork and team concept.
Tactful interaction with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies and the public.
Knowledge of QAPI procedures.
Leadership and supervisory skills; ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret QAPI program goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and ability to handle difficult residents and staff.
Willingness to seek new methods, principles and incorporate them into existing practices.
Education
Minimum of a two‑year degree.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Works in office areas and throughout the facility premises.
Subject to frequent interruptions.
Involved with residents, family members, personnel and visitors under all conditions.
Works beyond normal hours, weekends, holidays; on‑call 24/7.
