Position Summary
Provides consultation, education and professional support for hospital‑wide and departmental quality improvement programs, projects and initiatives. Educates and advises on methods, tools and techniques for monitoring and assessing quality of care and compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements. Serves as project manager for designated programs/projects, supports implementation and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives, and designs, administers and analyzes customer surveys.
Key Responsibilities
Plans and conducts educational programs for hospital staff; identifies learning needs and develops related instructional materials.
Provides consultation to medical staff, management and hospital departments; advises on tools, methods and criteria for monitoring care processes and outcomes, and evaluates effectiveness of changes.
Participates in and supports hospital and unit‑based committees, programs and special projects; assists with data collection, measurement, analysis and facilitates group decision‑making.
Serves as project manager for quality improvement initiatives; monitors status, resolves problems, leads project teams, oversees training and conducts evaluation.
Analyzes data and prepares recommendations to improve quality of care; maintains programs, databases and generates reports or ad hoc analyses.
Responds to data requests from insurers and external organizations; collaborates with industry and community committees to share information.
Maintains knowledge of professional trends through participation in relevant organizations and continued education.
Education
Master’s Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Management or closely related field.
Experience
Two years of data‑management experience in a clinical setting; equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute.
Analytical skills to resolve complex problems using scientific, mathematical or technical principles and in‑depth knowledge.
Strong communication skills for persuasion and negotiation in important matters.
