Job Description
Dane Street, a nationally recognized Independent Review Organization (IRO), is expanding its panel of Physician Reviewers. We are currently seeking Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeons (Spine experience preferred) licensed in Mississippi to perform Utilization Reviews.
This is a non-clinical, fully remote role designed to offer supplemental income with complete flexibility. As a Physician Reviewer, you will deliver objective, evidence-based opinions regarding the medical necessity of treatment requests and appeals. This is not a treatment role-no patient contact, no exams, and no doctor-patient relationship is established.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review medical records and treatment plans for medical necessity
* Apply state-specific workers' compensation guidelines and national evidence-based criteria
* Deliver clear, concise, and well-supported determinations
* Complete reviews within assigned timeframes (usually 1-5 business days)
* Participate in peer-to-peer discussions when requested (scheduled by Dane Street)
* Update determinations if additional medical records are submitted

Requirements:
* Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery (Spine experience preferred)
* Active, unrestricted medical license in Mississippi
* Experience with Workers' Compensation cases is a plus
* Must be actively practicing in a clinical setting
