Job Summary: The Sr. Clinical Analyst is responsible for planning and leading projects related to Information Systems and Applications within the WMC Health Pharmacy department. This role involves developing workflows, system configuration, application deployment, support, change documentation, and staff training on application functionality. The individual must stay current with application updates, interface with WMC Health IS and external analysts, and possess a good understanding of technical infrastructure such as networking, data interfaces, and server administration. Excellent communication skills are essential for sharing information with department users. The incumbent will provide ongoing maintenance, testing, and support of clinical systems, offer consultative IT advice to leadership, and guide other staff. They must understand project scope, business needs, and stakeholder roles, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. The role also includes managing automation pharmacy technicians.
Responsibilities: Perform system analysis, design, and implementation of software systems.
Install and support applications.
Collaborate with users at various levels to determine operational needs.
Assess application enhancements to meet organizational goals.
Produce research and statistical data for management and faculty.
Research procedures and workflows used by other healthcare institutions.
Provide support for existing applications and implement new clinical systems.
Support vendor application systems.
Ensure systems process effectively and accurately.
Generate reports for stakeholders.
Test applications prior to deployment.
Manage projects and provide status reports.
Assist with project documentation.
Coordinate with IS staff and management for system development and implementation.
Support application support, training, and education for users.
Conduct system demonstrations.
Support system issues from the Help Desk.
Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and vendors.
Assist in analyzing information system options for research and education needs.
Manage team members and prepare for application deployment.
Coordinate system downtime and server maintenance.
Provide on-call support, including 24/7 availability if needed.
Lead large projects related to applications or other initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements: Experience with Cerner Millennium preferred; current certification or within six months of employment.
Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
Preferred: Completion of pharmacy residency or professional experience as a Clinical Pharmacist or Staff Pharmacist.
Valid Pharmacist license issued by the New York State Board of Pharmacy.
Physical Requirements: Sedentary, Light, Medium, or Heavy work based on physical activity level, involving lifting and mobility as specified.
