Responsibilities

Acknowledge and greet patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly manner.

Answer and respond to telephone inquiries professionally and promptly.

Schedule appointments.

Gather patient and insurance information.

Verify and enter patient demographics into EMR, ensuring all fields are complete.

Verify vision and medical insurance information and enter EMR.

Maintain a clear understanding of insurance plans and communicate information to patients.

Pull schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and keep files complete.

Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed.

Print and prepare forms for patient visits.

Collect and document all charges, co‑pays, and payments into EMR.

Allocate balances to insurance as needed.

Maintain a clean workspace.

Use equipment and supplies efficiently.

Perform other duties as needed and as assigned by manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic computer literacy.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.
