Explore the Opportunity at Our Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC) Located in Redwood City, CA, the SHC Outpatient Surgery Center is a modern, free-standing facility featuring six operating rooms and two procedural suites. We specialize in high-quality outpatient orthopedic procedures, including:
Sports medicine (hip, knee, and shoulder arthroscopies)
Hand, foot, and ankle surgery
Additional services in GYN, ENT, spine, pain management, and physiatry
Our center primarily serves adult and pediatric patients (ages 12 and up, 80+ lbs), with most returning home the same day. Extended recovery care is available as needed.
OSC is open Monday through Friday—enjoy your weekends and holidays off.

A Brief Overview The Patient Care Manager is a Registered Nurse who provides unit leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the healthcare team, hospital/system leaders to develop a quality practice setting that supports professional nursing and quality patient care. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Responsibilities include coordination of patient care; supervision of a professional team that includes multiple nursing and other staff as appropriate; administrative and budget management; troubleshooting of problem areas; organizational change management; ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards; quality assurance/quality improvement; safety and risk management requirements as well as actualization of hospital and unit policies, goals, and objectives. Further, improving unit operations, enhancing communication and feedback, customizing education and staff roles, and accepting organizational accountability for services provided to recipients are critical outcomes expected of this role. The Nurse Manager role is critical to hospital operations and minimally accomplishes the following essential duties.

What you will do Ensure the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing services of unit(s), including assessment of patients, implementation of physicians' orders, treatment plans, medical procedures, medication administration, and record keeping; monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes; coordinate nursing activities with other services or disciplines; demonstrate clinical competency in assigned specialty area and role model nursing practice aligned with organizational values.
Communicate clearly and effectively to enhance team effectiveness, manage conflicts, engage employees, and collaborate across departments to improve performance.
Plan and forecast department budget, interpret financial reports, project workload, monitor productivity, and identify budget needs in collaboration with physicians and nursing colleagues. Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and resource allocation.
Manage personnel, including hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions, adhering to laws and policies.
Assume 24-hour responsibility for unit operations, providing leadership, planning, and direction aligned with hospital goals and standards. Serve as a resource and mentor to staff and interdisciplinary teams.
Monitor and improve unit performance through data analysis, patient and staff satisfaction targets, and process improvement initiatives.
Facilitate professional development of nursing staff and promote educational opportunities based on staff needs.
Support clinical and service quality indicators, ensuring a safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable environment.
Education Qualifications Bachelor's and/or Master's in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Experience Qualifications Three (3) years of progressively responsible and related work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to contribute to healthcare policy with a multidisciplinary team.
Delegation skills, program development, leadership, change management, resource prioritization, supervision, and knowledge of healthcare technology and regulations.
Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
