Responsibilities
Assess, develop, implement, evaluate, and revise off-shift education programs to meet clinical staff needs and comply with policies and regulations. Plan continuing nurse education programs as needed.
Identify and recommend department-specific content for learning modules and policies, focusing on RN staff with less than 2 years of practice.
Serve as a planner and facilitator for professional growth and continuing education for off-shift nurses.
Demonstrate professional nursing leadership and collaborate with management to meet educational needs.
Ensure adherence to patient safety and blood & body fluid precautions.
Provide clinical instruction for RN staff to assess and develop competencies.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory standards and participate in inspections.
Develop performance improvement plans with nursing leadership and assess clinical competencies.
Evaluate clinical activities of contracted nurses and ensure they are familiar with policies.
Collaborate to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Participate in quality monitoring and process improvement projects.
Serve as a clinical resource, participate in committees, and promote good public relations.
Maintain proficiency in nursing informatics and stay updated on healthcare programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current RN license in Massachusetts
BSN required; MSN preferred
ACLS certification within 3 months
BLS certification maintained
CCRN preferred
Recent acute care nursing experience
Critical care experience required
Experience in clinical education preferred
Certifications appropriate to clinical areas maintained
CPI certification within 3 months
Procedural sedation experience preferred
Position Details
Provides education and support for off-shift RN staff under the Director of Clinical Education. TEMP, 30 hrs/week, day/evening shifts, no weekends or holidays.
