Summary
This position is assigned to the NWW (N95) office within the CNIC Fleet and Family Readiness Programs (N9) Directorate and reports directly to the Regional Program Director. The primary purpose of this position is to provide case management support throughout the recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration of wounded warriors, their family members, or caregivers.

Duties

Provide bedside support to Navy and Coast Guard recovering service members (RSM) and their families, minimizing delays and gaps in treatment or services.

Obtain permission from RSMs to gather and exchange necessary information about the RSMs, their families, and caregivers in accordance with Privacy Act and HIPAA regulations.

Conduct initial assessment of service members and families to identify any non‑medical issues.

Work alongside agencies and service providers to facilitate case coordination and information sharing, helping patients and families make informed decisions.

Coordinate with parent command and casualty assistance officers to arrange travel orders and assist with travel claims for family members.

Consult and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during the initial treatment phase and throughout the continuum of care.

Ensure RSMs, families, and caregivers have access to all medical and non‑medical services, including rehabilitation, education, employment programs, and disability benefits.

Initiate referrals to DoD, federal, state, local governments, and NGOs, intervening when necessary to ensure delivery of services.

Assist with Navy personnel‑specific issues such as orders, pay, housing, fitness reports, awards, and promotions.

Provide information and referral services on transitional and survivor assistance programs, VA benefits, SSA benefits, DOL employment assistance, educational assistance, housing, relocation assistance, and family travel coordination.

Assist in seamless transition of sailors and families from medical treatment facilities to VA or civilian healthcare systems.

Document case information in the program's electronic database and prepare required reports.

Respond to inquiries and provide guidance and assistance with information release approvals.

Submit all required documentation on assigned cases via the program's system of record, providing reports and updates as required.

Participate in public awareness efforts to educate the fleet on NWW.

Requirements

Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successfully complete a background investigation.

Must successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.

Work is primarily sedentary in nature.

Work is performed in a normal office setting at the region, installation, or medical treatment facility.

Incumbent must hold and maintain access to all relevant Wounded Warrior systems and enrollee database to perform required duties.

Bedside travel is required within prescribed timelines as outlined in CNIC instruction.

Qualifications

Knowledge and understanding of DoD or Department of Navy Wounded Warrior initiatives, including operational requirements for warriors and families.

Knowledge of federal and agency regulations, and pertinent laws, regulations, and policies related to program operations.

Skill in qualitative and quantitative methods for program assessment and improvement.

Ability to manage multiple major projects concurrently across various Navy commands and other government agencies.

Ability to prepare, present, discuss, and defend issues, findings, and recommendations.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and in a stressful, time‑sensitive environment.
