Under the supervision of the Nursing Manager, the Nursing Care Coordinator I - Training Support is responsible for providing training and competency assessments, medical assistant training, on-site nursing care and administrative tasks related to patient health, patient education and vaccines.
This position is based out of our Atwater Training site.
Hours are Monday – Friday, working from 8:00am – 4:30pm, with flexibility to work over time.
Compensation: $31.09 - $33.13 an hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Supports the mission, vision, values and strategy of Golden Valley Health Centers by providing excellent patient-centered treatment, care, and services.
Coordinates duties with Providers, RNs, Director of Operations (DOO), Center Managers, Quality Assurance staff, and Senior Leadership.
Communicates skillfully with all center visitors, patients and staff using therapeutic communication principles and techniques to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with all GVHC employees and community partners.
Collaborates with local site staff to provide needed training and competency assessments for specific to quality and safety activities
Works collaboratively with the Quality team and operational management to promote infection control and safety projects.
Clinically trains, orients, and supervises MAs and other patient care staff in collaboration with trainers to measure skill and competency.
May provide feedback to Center Manager, BOS and/or DON for employee performance evaluations and corrective actions.
Provide onsite education and coaching to Mas
Participates as a preceptor or trainer during general staff training, new hire orientation, annual skills competencies and special projects
Updates and maintains New Hire training materials and any necessary documentation
Willingness to explore and implement innovative infection control and training programs/ projects.
Supports general health center maintenance activities to assure compliance with patient safety, infection control, quality assurance, mandated reporting, consent, and confidentiality policies/procedures.
Attends designated meetings, participates in assigned committees and taskforces,
Assists in the development and implementation of infection control, medication management, nursing and patient care services, policies and procedures
Proactively assumes responsibility for continuous improvement activities and is receptive to accepting other job duties as assigned and as delegated.
Regular travel to assigned sites, and as required for training, meetings and job duties.
Perform nursing duties across multiple clinic practices.
Ability to travel as required.

Valid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance, reliable transportation and acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring patients may involve lifting or pushing greater than 30 pounds, should be done with assistance as appropriate.
Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry patients.
Must be able to hear staff/clients on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
Must have vision with or without lenses that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents.
Must have high manual dexterity.
Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling.
Work Environment
Exposure to biohazards, including infectious material and waste and any other conditions common in a health care environment.
Subject to unpleasant odors.
The noise level is usually quiet to moderate, but may at times be noisy and crowded.
Education/Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current unencumbered Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of CA.
Current BLS CPR Card certified by American Heart Association.
Previous ambulatory care work experience and training experience desired.
