Nurse Practitioner - Palliative Care

Join our hospital-employed Palliative Care team, dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive support to patients and families. This position includes a mix of outpatient palliative care clinic responsibilities and participation on our hospital-based inpatient Palliative Care team. The provider will also round at the Hospice Center and may assist with coverage across other Palliative Care and Hospice services as needed, including nursing home/assisted living centers.

Advanced Certified Hospice & Palliative Care Nurse preferred. Palliative Care and/or Hospice experience preferred.

2-year contract also includes:

  • Vacation: 29 PTO (paid time off) days/232 hours. Additional 40 hours when producing 75%tile wRVUs
  • CME/Books & Journals: 40 hours PTO and up to $5000
  • Deferred compensation: 457b plan. Defer compensation up to IRS limit of $23,500 year before taxes. No matching.
  • Retirement / Savings Plan: 403b plan. Defer compensation up to IRS limit of $23,500 year before taxes under age 50 and $31,000 for over age 50. SOMC matches dollar for dollar up to 2% of base pay.
  • Malpractice Insurance Coverage: in a claims made insurance, in an amount of $2,000,000, per claim/$6,000,000, aggregate
  • Health Insurance: provider pays small premium, deducted from paycheck
  • Liquidated Damages: 70 mile and 2 year non-compete clause or liquidated damages of one year salary
  • Bonus Incentives: excellent bonus incentives up to 10% of salary

  • Case Load:
  • If the provider is in the clinic setting, the average would be 8 per day.
  • Practice Expectations:
    • Responsible for medical and palliative care management
    • Attending provider for Hospice
    • Supplement to the patient's primary care provider
