Our client, a nationally recognized hospital at the forefront of compassionate end-of-life care for terminally ill adults, is seeking a Palliative Care Nurse Manager with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). This leadership role is ideal for a mission-driven nurse leader dedicated to excellence in palliative and geriatric care. The Palliative Care Nurse Manager will oversee a 50-bed inpatient unit, managing clinical and administrative operations on a 24-hour basis. This leader will plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate unit activities and staff performance to ensure delivery of exceptional patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager will also collaborate cross-functionally to align unit goals with hospital-wide standards and participate actively in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage nursing operations for a 50-bed palliative care unit.
Ensure consistent, high-quality care in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, institutional nursing standards, and geriatric best practices.
Promote a culture of clinical excellence, compassion, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Supervise, coach, and evaluate nursing staff performance.
Optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
Partner with other departments to meet the physiological, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
Drive continuous improvement through participation in quality assessment and performance improvement programs.
Qualifications
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license (in good standing).
35 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in palliative, hospice, or geriatric settings.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
