Summary: Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Manager of Nursing Informatics to serve as a strategic liaison between clinical nursing teams, healthcare IT, and leadership. This highly visible role plays a key part in optimizing patient care through technology-driven solutions while ensuring alignment with Rush’s commitment to excellence in healthcare. Responsibilities Lead and oversee the implementation, management, and optimization of nursing-related health IT solutions to enhance clinician workflows and patient care.
Collaborate with nursing leadership, clinical teams, and IT professionals to align technology solutions with nursing best practices and patient safety standards.
Serve as a key consultant for nursing technology initiatives, ensuring evidence-based practices are integrated into system functionalities.
Drive the adoption and education of clinical technology, providing expertise in optimizing system usability and efficiency.
Represent nursing interests in health IT decision-making, ensuring technology aligns with evolving patient care needs and regulatory compliance.
Utilize shared governance to engage frontline clinicians in decision-making, fostering an inclusive approach to healthcare innovation.
Coordinate activities to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to nursing processes, policies, and IT systems.
Keep current in nursing clinical practice and operations, understanding business problems and opportunities to achieve organizational goals.
Serve as an internal consultant to clinical and business departments to identify and achieve program goals while balancing demands of Nursing, business units, and Digital & Information Services.
Coordinate Nursing IT priorities with changing scientific evidence and maturing technology.
Qualifications Master's degree in business, informatics, nursing, or related field required.
Eight (8) years of clinical healthcare experience required.
Four (4) years of progressive healthcare management experience required.
Current state of Illinois nursing, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant licensure.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage departmental operations, supervise personnel, and drive results through others.
Knowledge of clinical processes across the care continuum and ability to communicate effectively with Medical Staff, Administration, and stakeholders.
Strong collaboration and consensus-building skills in a professional environment.
