Three Rivers Midlands is a comprehensive behavioral health facility treating children and adolescents through residential and Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBH). We treat males and females ages 6‑21 for a wide spectrum of psychiatric issues, addictive behaviors, and chemical dependency related illnesses.
Responsibilities
The Lead Utilization Review (UR) Coordinator provides precertification and verification of benefits for incoming residents, coordinates the utilization management functions of a resident caseload through collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team, and performs reviews with external review organizations/managed care companies. The Coordinator completes insurance verification from various payors, obtains correct information to complete precertification and appeals, manages day‑to‑day activities of the Utilization Review department, ensures verification of insurance on all cases, assists Admissions in educating staff related to precertification/authorizations, maintains an up‑to‑date detailed list of insurance companies with verification procedures, and maintains 24/7 availability for facility needs based on the AOC Calendar, appointing a designee in case of non‑availability. Other job duties as assigned. The position is full‑time, day, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Services or similar field required, strongly prefer Master’s Degree.
Minimum one year in a behavioral health/healthcare setting preferred.
Valid SC Driver’s License required.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit‑setting and behavior management.
