The Informatics Specialists are responsible for assisting in the development and ongoing workflow support with electronic medical record systems. By developing and implementing education and working with vendors the informatics specialist ensures up to date organizational knowledge around EMR best practices. This role includes participation in organization projects, task and resource management, and effective communication skills.
Essential Functions Assist with EMR workflows including integrated software and downtime procedures. Assistance will be timely including follow up, escalation, or resolution as appropriate.
Coordinate with vendors for EMR troubleshooting and end user ticket resolution.
Assist in developing, documenting, and implementing staff training around software and workflows.
Participate in department quality improvement and project management activities including but not limited to workflow analysis, updates, integrations, and optimization planning and rollout.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills; using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

The Clinical Informatics Specialist will act as the liaison between clinical care and EHR information technology. The Clinical Informatics Specialist assists in clinical information system implementation, maintenance and support, testing, training/end user support, supports go-live activities and mentors colleagues for knowledge transfer and troubleshooting. The Clinical Informatics Specialist utilizes inter-team and inter-departmental coordination, communication and collaboration to accomplish goals. Fully understands, participates, assists and demonstrates adherence to EHR governance structure and processes.
Essential Functions Leads change management efforts for department level initiatives, new departmental workflows and new work where the primary customer or stakeholder is the clinician and the EHR is the primary means to meet the project deliverables.
Demonstrates understanding and adherence to ticket prioritization and approval process. Creates customer communication for system enhancements and fixes in partnership with Epic partners.
Coordinates and develops training plans and user documentation for departments. May support efficiency efforts as needed for subject matter EHR changes.
Participates in and compiles lessons learned at project conclusions; demonstrates increased knowledge and improved performance based on previous work
