Quality Improvement Coordinator Job Summary The Quality Improvement Coordinator works with the Director of Quality to plan, organize, direct, and lead staff, and process quality improvement programs. The Coordinator applies system design, reengineering, project management, quality improvement, outcome measurement, and analysis techniques. The role provides leadership in all aspects of Quality Management, including establishing a systematic approach to Quality Management, setting priorities, providing direction and mentoring to staff, leading patient safety initiatives, monitoring progress, evaluating, and continually improving the quality system. The Coordinator also works to minimize the hospitals potential financial loss through risk detection, evaluation, and prevention programs in collaboration with the Risk Manager and Director of Quality.
The Coordinator coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospitals overall Quality Improvement (QI) program, which includes all ancillary, nursing, and medical staff departments, to identify trends, prioritize and recommend improvements, decrease duplication, and ensure regulatory and licensure compliance, contractual obligations, and corporate policies on the QI program. The Coordinator investigates incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues, and other issues as requested.
Qualifications
College degree in a clinical area
Must have at least two (2) years experience in an acute hospital setting, with responsibilities including data collection and reporting preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
ASQ or CPHQ certification preferred
Must have a Safety Sensitive?Designated position designation
