Quality Improvement Specialist
Contract - 3 months with potential for extension or permanent. Must be a resident of Texas.

Job Description
The QI Specialist will support quality improvement projects and reporting. Respond to inquiries, support medical record retrieval for a large upcoming project, resolve pending records, and ensure records contribute to member compliance and measure rates.

Responsibilities

Call provider offices to request or validate facility and provider addresses and collect medical records for the HEDIS project.

Data entry of address changes into the system.

Upload records upon receipt.

Document all outreach efforts.

Work with MS Excel.

Monitor production of quality results, analyze, track, trend reporting results and report them to management.

Formulate and prepare ad‑hoc and additional reporting requirements.

Recommend, develop, and implement quality improvement plans with management.

Train providers and staff in continuous quality improvement methodologies and tools.

Prepare for and participate in meetings with state agencies, providers, and stakeholders.

Perform audits to meet state and internal requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) preferred.

3 years of related experience.

Heavy chart monitoring and auditing of medical records.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - intermediate/advanced.

Experience Level
Intermediate

Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
