Job Description Job Description: The Clinical and Health Informaticist challenges the status quo of the healthcare experience through the Science of Informatics. This is an exciting field where experts innovate, design, simplify, and translate technology to support the Intermountain Health mission and vision. The position is responsible for workflow and system analysis and functional design for software development and configuration activities related to clinical applications. Caregivers in this role are also responsible for participating in the implementation, training, adoption, and process improvement of Health Information Technology (HIT). The Informaticist acts as a liaison with business and clinical users and the software development/application teams. This position uses intermediate informatics principles to support and lead moderately complex projects with limited supervision, while developing clinical understanding and advanced informatics skills.
Essential Functions Interact with business and clinical caregivers to build productive relationships
Work flexible hours to meet project requirements
Provide customer service using verbal and written communication skills
Prioritize and organize work with attention to detail and limited supervision
Utilize word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, email, virtual meeting applications, and scheduling tools
Understand how clinical systems are used to provide patient care across various specialties
Apply informatics fundamentals to positively impact people, processes, and tools
Use basic project management skills to contribute to technology project deliverables
Conduct facility rounds to observe workflows, meet stakeholders, assist with implementations, and other targeted tasks

Qualifications Knowledge of healthcare workflows
Experience engaging clinicians through presentation and communication skills

Experience with EHR systems like Cerner, Epic, or others
Training or experience in Continuous Improvement
Current licensure for registered nurses and other licensed clinical staff
Physical Requirements Ability to see, read, and assess information, labels, monitors, and equipment
Frequent communication with customers and staff
Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and supplies
Ability to lift, transport, and set up equipment, including heavy items
Location and Work Details Location: Lake Park Building, West Valley City, Utah
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Hourly Rate: $35.29 - $55.57, dependent on experience
