The NewPath Child & Family Solutions Foster Home Assessor is part of a dynamic team and plays a vital role in the Foster Care home process. The Foster Home Assessor ensures completion of all initial home studies and re-certifications for the foster homes in the program.
Location:
This is a hybrid Assessor and Case Manager position working with clients in the Dayton and Cincinnati, OH areas.

What you'll be doing:
- Ensure completion of all initial home studies and re-certifications for the foster homes in the program within required timeframes including interviews, safety audits, coordinating background checks and submitting all paperwork to the state.
- Maintain statistical information on foster homes such as training hours, CPR/First Aid and DCI, wrap around funds and medical dates for clients.
- Participate in the planning and providing activities for foster, respite and alternative caregivers that promote the retention and support for program stability.
- Provide instruction to foster caregivers on technical and treatment issues.
- Use individual psychosocial information to provide appropriate service to clients and caregivers according to each party's need and functioning.
- Visit children in their foster homes and communities.
- Support children and foster families through their transitions into and out of care (placement).
- Build and maintain working relationships with the children, their foster parent(s), JFS workers, and additional members of the treatment team.
- Identify the needs of each youth and coordinate the necessary evaluations and assessments.
- Due to the community-based nature of services, approximately 30% of time is spent traveling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, etc.) required; Master's degree preferred.
- Must have a professional license (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC) in good standing at all times to provide clinical services.
- Must be willing to enroll and complete Adoption Assessor Training within 6 months of hire to be able to assist with recruitment, licensing, and retention of quality foster homes.
- Previous foster care, mental health or community support experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations to provide client Advocacy.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a valid driver's license and good driving record with no more than 5 points and current automobile insurance.
