Manager – Dog Daycare & Boarding Facility

We’re looking for a manager to join our team at Unleashed Dog Camp, a kennel-free dog daycare and boarding facility. With 15 employees and dozens of dogs in our care each day, we need a strong, compassionate leader who can balance staff management, customer service, and dog safety.
About Us
We are a positive, force-free facility that provides daycare and boarding in a mostly outdoor environment. Our team is passionate about creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for both dogs and humans.
What You’ll Do
Oversee daily operations including scheduling, staffing, and smooth facility flow.
Collaborate with ownership on business strategy, marketing initiatives, and expansion opportunities.
Manage budgets, track revenue, and control costs while identifying opportunities to increase profitability
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through clear, professional communication.
Hire, train, coach, and support a team of about 15 part and full time employees to deliver exceptional care and service.
Monitor dog health, safety, and group play dynamics, intervening and directing staff as needed.
Hang out with dogs! Participate in managing play groups, basic grooming, feeding and other hands on tasks.
Support employee growth through training, mentoring, and accountability.
Uphold a safe, positive, and collaborative workplace culture.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership skills: able to inspire, coach, and hold staff accountable.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Comfort making decisions under pressure.
Knowledge of dog behavior and group play management (or willingness to learn quickly).
Commitment to positive reinforcement and force-free handling.
Organized and adaptable with strong time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Management experience in pet care, hospitality, or similar fast paced, hands on environment
Proven track record of financial oversight and team leadership
Strong customer service and communication skills
* Are you short on management experience but have strong leadership qualities and the drive to develop your skills through mentorship and independent learning? We would be excited to train the right person to grow into this position over time. Pay is dependent on experience.
