Overview
We are seeking a PACU/Nursing professional with solid PACU/Recovery Nursing knowledge for a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting in Georgia. This position offers no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call requirements. A signing bonus of $5,000 is available.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing physician orders and providing continuous nursing care to all patients. Responsibilities include:
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout care
Assist physicians in procedure rooms as needed, including conscious sedation and sterile technique
Plan, direct, organize, coordinate and implement nursing care services for post-surgical patients
Monitor vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, respiration), manage pain and nausea following anesthesia
Provide care in pre-op holding and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) settings
Education, Training and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Virginia Nursing License
Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU or ICU
Skills
Good communication and human relations skills
Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative
Ability to master new skills
Thorough knowledge of all phases of perioperative process and anesthesia implications
Current nursing assessment and patient care skills
