Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM) is accepting applications for the position of Director of Continuous Quality Improvement and Accreditation. As XOCOM works toward becoming the fifth allopathic historically Black medical school in the nation, this role is instrumental in laying the foundation for that achievement through rigorous quality assurance and accreditation leadership. In close partnership with the Associate Dean for Education and Academic Affairs (ADEAA), the Director will lead efforts to document continuous quality improvement initiatives, monitor compliance with accreditation standards, and oversee the preparation and timely submission of requirements to the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). Reporting directly to the ADEAA, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative chapter in medical education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of the medical school LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education) accreditation process including the preparation, submission, and management of accreditation documents.
Serve as the primary institutional contact for all relevant accreditors and regulatory authorities.
Lead and manage the self-study process by coordinating the collection of survey data and materials, synthesizing narrative responses, leading training sessions, and developing the survey visit schedule.
Develop and implement a comprehensive Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program to ensure accreditation compliance and enhance the quality of educational programs.
Work closely with faculty, staff, and administrative leaders to ensure that all relevant processes and outcomes meet LCME accreditation requirements.
Compile, analyze, and synthesize data related to accreditation and quality improvement.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and external stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of accreditation standards and CQI principles.
Coordinate and manage the institutional policy lifecycle by aligning stakeholders, monitoring progress, and ensuring the successful rollout and continuous improvement of our accreditation standards and initiatives.
Regularly communicate progress on accreditation and CQI initiatives to stakeholders, including preparing reports and presentations.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience in CQI and/or institutional or programmatic accreditation.
Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree of Master’s or higher
Seven years of experience in CQI and LCME accreditation, including assisting with the Data Collection Instrument (DCI) and organizing LCME site visits.
