The Director, Analytics & Informatics will transform clinical, operational, claims, and third-party data into actionable insights to improve financial performance and reduce liability risk. Partnering closely with Risk Management, Data Science, IT, Claims, and Clinical teams, the Director will deliver data-driven tools to mitigate malpractice exposure, improve patient care, and strengthen organizational outcomes.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Informatics, Statistics, Health Information Management, Computer Science is required.
A master’s degree in Informatics, Statistics, Health Information Management, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in analytics, informatics, or data strategy, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
Professional experience in informatics within a hospital or healthcare environment.
Demonstrated experience working with EHR data, clinical coding, and healthcare claims data.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, patient safety, and risk management.
Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and overseeing analytics solutions, including governance of data products and reporting tools.
Comprehensive knowledge of processes for acquiring, standardizing, and organizing clinical, operational, and claims data to ensure data integrity and usability.
Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to present complex clinical and financial insights to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to translate evidence and guidelines into informatics solutions that drive strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Analytics
Present actionable clinical and financial insights to guide strategic decisions.
Collaborate with clinical leaders to identify improvement opportunities and support risk mitigation strategies.
Lead ingestion and curation of EHR data to improve clinical coding accuracy.
Integrate hospital and third-party data with malpractice data for benchmarking.
Oversee data for BI analytics, including semantic models and certified datasets.
Data Quality & Terminology
Support clinical data steward and data quality program (completeness, timeliness, accuracy) with automated rules.
Assist with terminology mapping and documentation standards to enhance coding reliability.
Maintain coding guidelines aligned with Department of Health regulations.
Oversee rollout, training, and adoption of data standards.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
Act as primary informatics liaison to hospital teams.
Communicate clearly with clients and follow up on expectations.
Monitor client needs and elevate concerns as needed.
Deliver high-quality work that supports efficient downstream workflows.
Team Development & Management
Develop staff performance metrics and annual service plans.
Coach and mentor team members to meet performance goals.
Provide timely feedback to direct reports.
Professional Development & Other Duties
Complete required training to support professional and departmental goals.
Contribute to department-wide projects and accept delegated tasks as needed.
Salary Range: $160,298 - $210,391
