Job Summary
Medtronic is seeking a Diabetes Clinical Educator (DCE) to provide individual or group training, diabetes education, and follow‑up for all patients using current Medtronic products and technologies. The DCE will work closely with the Clinical Territory Manager and Clinical District Manager, delivering training across multiple territories within Ohio Valley District.

A Day in the Life

Sets up and facilitates individual or group education, in‑person and/or virtually, on the portfolio of Medtronic’s diabetes products.

Facilitates webinars, conference calls, or other computer‑based training offerings.

Provides ongoing patient educational support, including support calls and pilot training initiatives.

Proactively makes outbound calls to patients at risk for therapy attrition to recapture lost patients or direct them to an educational event.

Submits training documents that are accurate and legible within 48 hours of completing the training session.

Coordinates with territory teams on therapy changes, CareLink files, and other patient‑related topics so territory teams can follow up with HCP.

Plans group trainings in alignment with territory teams and district quarterly training goals.

Supports training events including location, set‑up, attendee invitations, facilitation, and follow‑up with patients after training events.

Proactively shares in the district and territory teams planning sessions.

Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)

Registered Nurse (RN)

Registered Dietitian (RD)

Physician Assistant (PA)

Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Pharmacist

AND

Associate’s Degree and 2 years of clinical experience

OR

Bachelor’s Degree and 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

Certified Pump Trainer or experience training customers on insulin pumps

Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) / Certified Diabetes Care And Education Specialist (CDCES)

Ability to work evenings, weekends, or on call periodically

Comprehensive knowledge of the diabetes disease state and experience training/educating patients on Medtronic products and technologies

Experience as a Certified Product Trainer for minimum of 1 year

Experience with Zoom, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Field Roles
Must have a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy. Driving will be required approximately 75% of the time within the assigned territory and may require overnight travel.

Benefits & Compensation
Salary Range (U.S. excl. PR): $85,000 – $90,000. Base salary is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. Eligibility for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding goals.
