Medtronic is seeking a Diabetes Clinical Educator (DCE) to provide individual or group training, diabetes education, and follow up for all patients on current Medtronic products and technologies. This individual will ensure optimum patient outcomes by training and supporting on an array of Medtronic diabetes products to ensure appropriate therapy settings and continuation of care. The DCE works closely with the Clinical Territory Manager under the direction of the Clinical District Manager (CDM) and will provide training and education across multiple territories. This is a field-based position that will support our Ohio Valley District. A majority of the support is needed in the Youngstown, OH area but support will be needed across the state of Ohio. Ideal candidates will reside near Youngstown and able to commute to the Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati areas. The expectation is to be in the field 2-3 days/week and remote the remaining days. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business.

Responsibilities include: setting up and facilitating individual and group education, in-person and/or virtually on the portfolio of Medtronic's diabetes products; facilitating webinars, conference calls, or other computer-based training offerings; providing ongoing patient educational support including support calls and pilot training initiatives; proactively making educationally focused outbound calls to patients at risk for therapy attrition with the overall goal of recapturing lost patients or directing them to an educational event; submitting training documents that are accurate and legible within 48 hours of completing the training session; coordinating with territory teams on therapy changes, CareLink files, and other patient-related topics so territory teams may follow up with HCP; planning group trainings in alignment with territory teams and district quarterly training goals; supporting training events including location, set up, attendee invitations, facilitation, and follow up with patients after training events; and proactively sharing in the district and territory teams planning sessions.
Minimum requirements include: a valid registered license in one or more of the following fields: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Dietitian (RD), Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Pharmacist AND an Associate's Degree and 2 years of clinical experience OR a Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of experience.
Nice to have: Certified Pump Trainer or experience training customers on insulin pumps; Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) / Certified Diabetes Care And Education Specialist (CDCES); ability to work evenings, weekends, or on call periodically; comprehensive knowledge of the diabetes disease state and experience training/educating patients on Medtronic products and technologies; experience as a Certified Product Trainer for minimum of 1 year; experience with Zoom, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
