Job Duties
The CSS Regional Case Manager is responsible for the preparation of Child Support Cases for Family Court; performance of activities in Court; the follow-up on these cases, including parent locate and processing of interstate cases; and is responsible for providing general child support services to clients as required or needed.
Prepares cases for court; verifies and notarizes pleadings, schedules hearings, files papers with the Clerk of Court, and utilizes DSS Palmetto Automated Child Support System (PACSS), Word, Outlook, and TEAMS. Liaison with Court personnel and with Sheriff's personnel responsible for service of process of legal documents.
Maintains control of assigned caseload; Handles correspondence and telephone inquiries relating to child support services. Processes and monitors intergovernmental cases. Keep other states advised of all activities; responsible for identifying and making recommendations on problems with the child support system and participating in the solutions. Examples of possible areas would be service of process and scheduling of cases. Maintains case records, case narrative establish and maintain documents on laptop computer electronically (into agency designated system) for documentation and auditing purposes as required by agency policy in a timely manner.
Ensures personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed; protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
Communicates with other units within the Child Support Services Division and other components within the Department of Social Services: access case data in PACSS and OnBase, as well as financial information to ensure distribution of collections. Interprets child support services programs to clients, general public and to the community as needed.
Provides services in accordance to agency policy and procedure. Assists attorneys in court; negotiate support amounts, complete form orders- support orders, genetic test agreements, continuances, contempt's, and special orders.
Coordinates intergovernmental genetic tests, including scheduling and follow-up. Conducts interviews with custodial parents for paternity cases, intergovernmental support cases, and other cases as necessary.
Coordinates with the Clerks of Court the enforcement of support obligations. Performs locate activities as required.
Performs Red Cross Shelter Duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as requested. Performs related duties as required.
Assists Regional Director and Case Worker III in administering the operations of the respective office. This involves help with policy and procedure implementation.
Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma and four (4) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
An Associate Degree and two (2) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree may be substituted for the required experience.
