The Clinical Informatics Specialist ensures that the electronic health record meets both the function and regulatory requirements for accurate patient data capture.
Hours: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks), Monday – Friday. Specific hours to be discussed during the interview.
Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:
Continuously monitors all regulatory reporting changes, including: current, upcoming and proposed changes.
Continuously monitors the facilities’ performance with reporting requirements.
Educates clinical leadership and EHR teams of upcoming changes to reporting requirements.
Collaborates with the EHR team to assist with the design, development and ongoing modification of the electronic health record systems to align with reporting requirements and data capture and accuracy.
Performs data extractions, validation, aggregation and dissemination from multiple applications, to include patient care applications as well as various Quality department applications, in order to assist with identifying trends, as directed.
Works with the EHR and Clinical teams to ensure the accuracy of patient health data documentation, capture and extraction.
Collaborates with the EHR Analysts to design and maintain data extraction reports.
Provides regulatory performance reports to executive, clinical and quality leadership to assist with identifying and implementing process improvement efforts.
Manages all communications with CMS, NHSN, NHA and other reporting agencies.
Assist in new and live system implementations and upgrades.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice in the State of Nebraska. Current licensure from a compact state requires Nebraska to be declared as their primary state of residence within thirty (30) days and must also obtain a Nebraska temporary permit or nursing license.
Previous clinical information system experience preferred.
Previous orthopedic, medical/surgical, or critical care experience preferred.
