As CVS Health and Oak Street Health continue to transform health care, we are seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS or Medical Scribe) to support primary care providers with clinical documentation, enabling clinicians to focus on patient care. Scribes participate in the patient care journey planning in daily huddles, observing and documenting in the exam room, and assisting with next steps after visits. Internally, these team members are known as CISs (Clinic Informatics Specialists) and contribute to accurate, specific, and timely clinical documentation. Scribes become proficient in our value-based care model, documentation for chronic conditions (including ICD-10 and CPT coding), and using population health data streams to help identify and close care gaps. Extensive on-the-job training covers clinical workflows, preventative care, documentation, and team-based care.
Because our patients and providers rely on Scribes, the ideal candidate should commit to at least 1-2 years in this role. This position is a strong fit for pre-med students seeking paid clinical experience or individuals pursuing careers in Health Informatics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Medical Coding, and related fields.
