Summary:
The Clinical Informatics Lead will work in two core job functions: a Primary Care Provider and an EMR Specialist. In the former role, you will deliver comprehensive primary care services and coordinate care under the supervision of a Physician. In the latter role, you will serve as the liaison between the IT Team and the Medical Provider team to identify EMR issues, improve workflows, and provide training to new and existing providers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical (40%):

Deliver direct Primary Care to assigned patients, developing therapeutic care plans for prevention, management, and maintenance of optimum health.

Provide preventive health services, health education, and counseling to promote positive health behaviors and self‑care skills.

Provide prenatal/postnatal services and care for uncomplicated pregnancies in collaboration with a physician partner as approved for clinical privileges.

Provide acute and chronic illness and urgent care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.

Consult with physician partners or refer to subspecialty care for patients with more complex issues.

Provide primary care and preventive services to children and adolescents within the assigned site/location as directed by the clinical supervisor.

Clinical Administrative (10%):

Maintain and update the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a systematic format and complete required documentation within the specified timeframe.

Ensure patient records remain confidential in accordance with Health Center policies, the Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards.

Clinical Informatics (50%):

Conduct initial computer‑based training and onboarding for providers.

Provide EMR training on new features or workflows; retrain providers as needed to improve their EMR skills.

Perform ongoing skills improvement, education, and competency training related to EMR applications.

Participate in workflow design, development, and re‑engineering as upgrades, enhancement requests, and new regulations arise.

Serve as a clinical EMR provider for all organization‑wide upgrades.

Collaborate on project implementation teams as assigned.

Qualifications:

Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant.

Massachusetts state medical license.

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care or a related environment.

Minimum of 2 years experience using EMRs such as EPIC, MediTech, eClinical Works, or NextGen.
