The Opportunity: Join Ensemble Health Partners as a Clinical Informatics Lead supporting our data annotation and informatics teams. Reporting to the VP, Informatics & Customer Success, you’ll work closely with the data annotation team, collaborating cross-functionally and mentoring team members.
Technical & Annotation-Specific Competencies Annotation Workflow Design: Expertise in designing, optimizing, and scaling annotation pipelines for machine learning and AI projects.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using annotation platforms and managing integrations with data storage and ML pipelines.
Data Quality Assurance: Implements rigorous QA processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of labeled data.
Clinical Ontologies & Standards: Familiarity with SNOMED CT, ICD-10, LOINC, HL7, and other medical coding systems to ensure consistent labeling.
ML/Data Collaboration: Works closely with data scientists and engineers to ensure annotated data meets model training requirements.
Operational & Process Competencies HIPAA & Regulatory Compliance: Ensures all data operations comply with HIPAA, GDPR, and other healthcare privacy regulations.
Secure Workflow Management: Designs and maintains secure annotation workflows with access controls, audit trails, and data de-identification protocols.
Annotation Throughput & Accuracy Tracking: Monitors team performance using precision, recall, and inter-annotator agreement metrics.
Process Optimization: Identifies bottlenecks and introduces automation (e.g., pre-labeling, active learning) to improve efficiency without compromising quality.
Leadership & Team Management Competencies Team Development: Recruits, trains, and mentors annotators; fosters a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous learning.
Performance Management: Sets clear goals, conducts regular reviews, and provides feedback to improve individual and team output.
Cross-Functional Communication: Serves as a liaison between annotation teams, data science, product, and engineering to align priorities.
Conflict Resolution & Motivation: Navigates interpersonal challenges, maintains morale, and motivates teams working on repetitive or complex tasks.
Strategic & Business Competencies Project Prioritization: Aligns annotation efforts with business objectives, model development timelines, and strategic initiatives.
Cost Management: Balances quality and speed with budget constraints, including vendor management if outsourcing is involved.
Innovation & Adaptability: Stays current with annotation trends (e.g., synthetic data, multimodal labeling) and adapts workflows accordingly.
Impact Measurement: Tracks how annotation quality influences downstream model performance and business outcomes.
This position pays between $134,000 - $231,200 based on experience
