Position Summary: The Clinical Informatics EHR Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of clinical applications used across the organization, including but not limited to iScribe, Athena, Incisions, Efferent and Relatient. This role ensures the reliability, integrity, and performance of clinical systems that support patient care delivery, provider documentation, scheduling, and communication. The Engineer collaborates closely with the clinical team, CIS, IT, and operational stakeholders to ensure that systems are aligned with workflow needs and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience supporting clinical applications in a healthcare environment.
- Strong working knowledge of one or more systems such as iScribe, Athenahealth, Incision, Relatient, or equivalent platforms.
- Proven experience with system configuration, testing, updates, and end-user support.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across clinical and technical teams and translate clinical needs into system requirements.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for designated clinical systems (e.g., iScribe, Athena, Incision, Efferent, Relatient).
- Perform system configuration, customization, and maintenance in accordance with clinical workflow requirements and vendor recommendations.
- Lead and coordinate routine system updates, upgrades, patches, and releases in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to minimize disruptions.
- Conduct regular system clean-up, data validation, and optimization efforts to maintain system performance and integrity.
- Maintain system documentation including configuration records, workflows, access controls, SOPs, and change logs.
- Collaborate with Clinical Informatics team members and IT to test and validate system changes and new functionalities.
- Work with clinical end-users to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure effective system utilization.
- Support onboarding and training efforts by ensuring systems are configured for new users and updated to reflect organizational changes.
- Monitor system performance and usage trends; generate reports and analytics to support decision-making and system improvements.
- Participate in vendor relationship management including support ticket escalations, feature requests, and service reviews.
- Ensure all systems are compliant with security, privacy, and regulatory standards including HIPAA.
