Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the education and training activities, to include orientation and remedial education for St. Luke's Physician Group's clinical staff (RN's, LPN's and Medical Assistants).
  • Assesses the performance of students in SLPG Academy, through the validation of skills, prior to releasing student into the practice.
  • Maintains clinical competence in the provision of patient care in ambulatory settings.
  • Demonstrates expertise in the teaching/learning process.
  • Conducts re-validation of skills training, annually for clinical practice staff.
  • Assesses learning needs of students and provides opportunities to enhance ongoing education and development through mentoring, teaching and clinical support.
  • Identifies, develops and/or provides classroom and clinical experiences to support the learning of new and current clinical staff.
  • Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to improve the curriculum.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures.
  • Participates in activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors measures of program performance.
  • Demonstrates competency in assigned areas of responsibility.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Requires sitting for up to 4 hours per day, 2 hours at a time. Standing for up to 6 hours per day, up to 3 hours at a time. Walking for up to 6 hours per day, up to 20 minutes at a time. Occasionally stoops and bends. Occasionally reaches above shoulder level. Frequently uses hands for writing. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, and high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision.

Education

Graduate of a professional nursing program. Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania or seeking Pennsylvania licensure through reciprocity required or and LPN with current license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania or seeking Pennsylvania licensure through reciprocity required.

Training and Experience

Experience (2 years minimum) in an outpatient setting, doctor's office, or Occupational Medicine preferred. Experience with providing in-service or education programs useful. CPR certified.
