Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a RN Clinical Educator Nursing to work with the NICU. This role is full-time, M-F. Relocation assistance eligible.
Inova L. J. Murphy’s Children's Hospital is home to the largest, most comprehensive subspecialty neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in the region. Our 108‑bed, Level IV NICU cares for high‑risk infants requiring specialized care and observation. The NICU is also the first in the nation to receive The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for Prematurity. This certification represents the highest level of care for premature birth patients.

Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities
Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
Prepares annual self‑development plans, sets professional goals, and seeks opportunities for achieving them.
Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
Hours: Full‑time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master’s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre‑requisites and timeline for taking the courses
Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor.
Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi‑state RN License.
