Position Summary: This position is responsible for assessing, designing, facilitating, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for Dignity Health Medical Foundation clinical staff (medical assistants and nursing staff), with the goal of improving job knowledge, enhancing skills, and ensuring that clinical staff are able to provide excellent support for physicians and patients. It includes New Employee Orientation, ongoing education, coaching, program development, and clinical leadership to non-physician staff. The role ensures clinical services meet regulatory requirements and provide quality health care.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, present/coordinate, and evaluate organizational, departmental, and center-specific educational programs.
Educate new clinical employees during orientation and provide follow-up.
Provide resource and clinical expertise to administrators and supervisors, including hiring assistance.
Offer ongoing and mandatory education opportunities for clinical personnel.
Coordinate and implement annual training such as clinical skills fairs.
Perform monthly clinical audits or as instructed by leadership.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and health plans.
Provide clinical leadership to staff and leaders across the organization.
Promote innovative methods to foster high-quality patient care.
Develop clinical process standards with leadership.
Travel routinely to all clinic locations (minimum quarterly).
Confer with supervisors on competency and learning needs, and assist in developing education plans.
Notify administration of process, workflow, and system issues that affect operations in a timely manner.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
2 years experience in a physician practice setting; content expertise in multi-specialty group practice, ambulatory setting.
Experience developing and presenting training courses.
Experience coaching others and identifying learning needs.
Current CA Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
Current BLS through American Heart Association.
Demonstrated skill in physician practice operations and clinical processes.
Knowledge of instructional skills and adult learning theory.
Strong computer skills and ability to use standard office equipment.
Excellent communication skills; ability to convey complex information constructively.
Problem-solving and critical thinking; evaluate processes and recommend improvements.
Leadership skills to guide process change and initiatives.
Ability to assess training needs using diverse methods.
Fluent English; clear speaking ability.
Preferred Qualifications
Education or precepting experience.
I.V. certification.
Multilingual skills.
