Salary Range: $80,000–$100,000.00

OCN Incentive Pay: Nurses with OCN certification are eligible after 90 days of employment or upon certification.

Responsibilities
SCOPE: Working independently, designs, develops, and implements training and education for clinical staff. Determines competency requirements for key clinical staff and designs and develops competency tests. Performs administrative duties such as maintaining training requirements and history, measuring results of training. Prepares and analyzes management reports related to training programs. Demonstrates knowledge of age‑specific differences in the patient population including adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Provide educational expertise to clinical staff to enhance oncology patient care within established clinical protocols.

Conduct studies to determine competency requirements for clinical positions; design and develop competency validation tools which tie to the training competency requirements.

Collaborate with medical providers, practice administrators, nursing leadership and clinical staff in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.

Initiate clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical and preceptorship models; monitor trends and implement educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.

Consult with and serve as a clinical resource for clinical management to ensure quality patient care.

Educate technical and clinical staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinate in‑service training and workshops for appropriate staff.

Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Prepare and analyze management reports related to the training program and consistently report to leadership and providers.

Perform training administration duties including maintaining history records, maintaining training requirements for each position, measuring training results, and producing reports.

Conduct annual needs assessment to assist in prioritizing educational needs.

Keep current with industry trends in oncology nursing and practice management to enhance existing programs and develop new ones.

Compile and maintain clinical competency logs/records (check‑off sheets).

Perform job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/Training: BSN from an accredited program. MSN preferred.

Licensure: RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.

Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements.

Experience: Five years nursing experience in an oncology setting; one year of educator or nursing leadership experience preferred.

Oncology Certification: Required.

Working Conditions
The position is performed in an office environment requiring frequent interaction with field and corporate clinical staff and management. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges. Large portion of time performing computer‑based work.
