What You’ll Make an Impact The Clinical Educator serves as a consultant, change agent, and facilitator in assessing learning needs and in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities for the staff of the assigned clinical areas. Plans and implements teaching strategies for all levels of staff. Oversees the clinical staff training program from new hire orientation to ongoing education, including donor referral, donor consent/authorization, organ recovery, and organ allocation. Responsible for creation, implementation, and ongoing support of preceptor / on-the-job training program(s). Routinely assesses and updates education programs and provides guidance regarding policies and regulations to ensure compliance. Ensures structured content for didactic instruction and skills-based learning. Training will include didactic and active donor management cases to assess and enhance the skills of the new orientee.

What You’ll Do Curriculum Development: Analyzes and assesses performance gaps and recommends training interventions to improve staff performance. Utilizes clinical leaders and internal/external SMEs to support curriculum development and training. Conducts needs assessment, client interviews, and observation techniques to determine scope and learning objectives. Develops innovative and targeted training solutions that make operational impact.
Clinical Training: Provides hands-on training, classroom instruction, and simulation-based learning to build clinical competencies and move staff from novice to competent practitioners. Coordinates with OPO leadership for ongoing clinical education opportunities. Works with assigned preceptors and participates in clinical training during active cases. Maintains training records and supports corporate performance improvement and evidence-based practice projects.
Preceptor Program: Develops and manages preceptor / on-the-job training program, providing continuing education and monitoring orientation. Evaluates preceptor competency and effectiveness. Ensures consistency of program implementation and quality.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement: Using the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model, assesses training program effectiveness and implements improvements. Evaluates educational programs through feedback, competency assessments, and measurable outcomes. Monitors clinical training program performance and identifies gaps to ensure staff competency.

What You’ll Bring Minimum Requirements:
Associate degree Nursing or healthcare related OR
Certification Critical care paramedic, respiratory therapy or surgical technician OR
High School Diploma AND five (5) years OPO / Tissue Recovery experience
Valid State Driver’s License
Two (2) years assessing, designing, and/or implementing clinical education programs/course content
Five (5) years OPO experience involving clinical aspects of organ/tissue recovery, donor management or surgical experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:
BSN Nursing OR
High School Diploma AND seven (7) years OPO / Tissue Recovery experience
CST or EMT Certified Scrub Tech or Certified Emergency Medical Technician
TS-C or CSFA Tech in Surgery-Certified or Certified Surgical First Assist
CTP Certified Transplant Preservationist
Four (4) years assessing, designing, and/or implementing clinical education programs/course content
Seven (7) years OPO experience involving clinical aspects of organ/tissue recovery, donor management or surgical experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Organ Donation Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of organ donation process, brain death, and family dynamics; knowledge of medical/legal principles related to donor evaluation and family support.
Psychology: Ability to manage stressful situations involving complex clinical scenarios and family dynamics.
Computer: Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to Detail: Thoroughness and accuracy in deliverables and on-time delivery.
Adult Learning Principles: Understanding that adults are self-directed and motivated by practical application.
Communication: Effective verbal and written communication; ability to work with professionals at various levels and facilitate presentations.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize multiple priorities and manage workload; handle time-sensitive projects.
Critical Thinking: Independent decision-making regarding medical management of organ donors, staff triage, and logistics.
Logistical Analysis: Systematic problem-solving and planning beyond obvious solutions.
Teamwork: Collaborative approach to resolve issues and meet business needs.
Compliance: Knowledge of medical compliance and data sharing.

Compensation
Salary Range: $65,972 - $86,962
Final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, qualifications, and prior relevant experience. The pay range stated is illustrative; actual compensation may be higher based on knowledge and experience.
