What You’ll Do The Clinical Educator serves as a consultant, change agent, and facilitator in assessing learning needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities for the staff of the assigned clinical areas.
Plan and implement teaching strategies for all levels of staff. Oversee the clinical staff training program from new hire orientation to ongoing education, including donor referral, donor consent/authorization, organ recovery, and organ allocation.
Create, implement, and support preceptor/on-the-job training programs. Routinely assess and update education programs and provide guidance on policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
Ensure structured content for didactic instruction and skills-based learning. Training will include didactic and active donor management cases to assess and enhance orientee skills.
What You’ll Bring Minimum Requirements:
Associate degree – Nursing or healthcare related OR
Certification – Critical care paramedic, respiratory therapy or surgical technician OR
High School Diploma AND FIVE (5) years – OPO/Tissue Recovery experience
Valid State Driver’s License
TWO (2) years – Assessing, designing, and/or implementing clinical education programs/course content
FIVE (5) years – OPO experience involving clinical aspects of organ/tissue recovery/donor management of surgical experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:
BSN – Nursing OR
High School Diploma AND SEVEN (7) years – OPO/Tissue Recovery experience
CST or EMT – Certified Scrub Tech or Certified Emergency Medical Technician
TS-C or CSFA – Tech in Surgery-Certified or Certified Surgical First Assist
CTP – Certified Transplant Preservationist
FOUR (4) years – Assessing, designing, and/or implementing clinical education programs/course content
SEVEN (7) years – OPO experience involving clinical aspects of organ/tissue recovery/donor management of surgical experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Organ Donation Process Knowledge: Understanding of organ donation process, brain death, donor evaluation, and family support.
Psychology: Ability to manage stressful situations and family dynamics.
Computer Skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to Detail, Adult Learning Principles, Communication, Time Management, Critical Thinking, Logistical Analysis, Teamwork, and Compliance.
Compensation Base pay range: $65,972.00/yr - $86,962.00/yr. Final compensation based on location, qualifications, and experience.
