The Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) reviews the clinical record for accuracy, focusing on elements such as the MS-DRG or APR DRG, co-morbidities, and complications. The CDS works closely with physicians, nurses, coders, and other clinical staff to ensure that the documentation accurately reflects the level of services provided.

Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Diploma/Associate Degree in Nursing
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Active Florida Registered Nursing License
Passing score on Clinical Competency Exam
Special Skills / Qualifications / Additional Training & Experience
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Minimum of 5 years of experience in ICU, critical care, med-surg, or other acute care settings
