Job Summary

The Cleveland Clinic Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute (HVTI) is seeking a Clinical Consultant with a focus on Outpatient Cardiology Services to assess, advise, and elevate hospital programs across the U.S. and abroad.

The Clinical Consultant plays a key role in advancing the quality and effectiveness of national programs by overseeing both clinical and operational functions. This position supports program evaluations, contributes to the development of new affiliations, and partners with existing affiliates and consulting projects to drive performance excellence. The Clinical Consultant designs and manages processes, metrics, and tools that enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and strengthen patient and organizational outcomes.

In this unique consulting role, you will collaborate with hospital leaders to assess outpatient cardiology services, share best practices, and deliver educational presentations to executive teams. This position spans a wide range of cardiology specialties including general and preventive cardiology, heart failure, and womens cardiovascular health supporting affiliate hospitals in aligning with Cleveland Clinics world-class standards of care. Ideal candidates bring hands-on outpatient cardiology experience, strong consulting and communication skills, and a deep commitment to quality, professionalism, and collaboration.

This position follows a MondayFriday schedule, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role is hybrid, with time split between remote work and on-site responsibilities at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus. Travel is required to hospital locations both domestically and internationally, including regional Cleveland Clinic facilities and sites in other states. The primary office location for this position is at the Main Campus.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Oversee the clinical and operational management of national programs and supports program evaluations and the development of new affiliations.
  • Analyze affiliate and consulting clients' strengths and opportunities in relation to project plans and targeted outcomes.
  • Develop and recommend quality and process improvement initiatives, ensuring leadership is informed of risks and implementation challenges.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluate operational efficiencies and structures at partner facilities to identify opportunities for improvement in care delivery.
  • Define project requirements in alignment with established standards, including scope, schedule, resources, budget, and deliverables, and perform comprehensive research on relevant topics.
  • Monitor procedural compliance, including issue tracking and scope management, and flag high-level project issues for escalation as needed.
  • Participate in annual assessments of affiliate and consulting sites to evaluate care delivery operations and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Perform environmental rounds at affiliate and consulting sites to assess compliance with governmental and healthcare agency standards, providing recommendations to correct identified deficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain standard project management documentation, including phases, milestones, and tasks.
  • Identify and help mitigate barriers that may prevent affiliates or clients from achieving project goals and objectives.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
  • 5 years of experience in an ambulatory or hospital setting
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills, strong problem identification and resolution skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Clinical expertise in the cardiac care service areas across the continuum
  • Experience working with cardiac clinical services and team members at all levels
