Overview
Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) is one of 21 community‑based, private, nonprofit corporations contracted with the California Department of Developmental Services. RCEB provides intake, assessment, diagnosis, and coordination of community‑based services for over 25,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
RCEB envisions a future where persons with developmental disabilities are fully integrated into community life, receiving supports and services that evolve with their changing needs.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate the planning process and develop the Individual Program Plan (IPP) or Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) for assigned consumers, overseeing implementation and monitoring services.
Coordinate and support the implementation of the consumer’s plan, identifying natural supports and generic services, and evaluating needs that require RCEB‑authorized funding.
Advocate on behalf of consumers to protect their rights and ensure receipt of entitled services and benefits.
Assist consumers and families in obtaining essential diagnoses and evaluations, securing written reports and other information.
Monitor consumer health and safety.
Maintain all documentation and contacts as required by law, regulation, and policy.
Implement RCEB policies and procedures.
Complete functional and developmental reviews in a timely manner.
Keep supervisor informed of case‑load status and unmet community needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field and at least 1 year of similar experience (or 4 years of experience with the developmentally disabled in an unrelated field).
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle; automobile ownership required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Proficiency in Tagalog (required).
