Overview The Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health in White Plains is hiring for Case Manager I (Mental Health Certified Peer Specialist) . This role involves counseling, outreach, and referrals as part of a professional program providing community support and mental health services in various settings. The position focuses on educating recipients about self-help techniques, coping strategies, and building support systems. Supervision is not a regular responsibility of this class.
Base pay $55,975.00/yr - $68,920.00/yr
Responsibilities Engages clients during initial assessments
Participates in client treatment planning with the assigned clinician and the Center Administrator
Conducts regular individual and/or group counseling sessions with clients and their families on an assigned caseload for treatment and rehabilitation peer counseling
Educates clients about self-help techniques and coping strategies; assists in identifying personal goals for rehabilitation and recovery
Performs follow-up services to ensure continuation and success of rehabilitation and to provide support as needed
Contacts other county, local, and community agencies to advocate for or access their services on behalf of clients
Compiles reports on patient progress and makes recommendations for additional services to promote rehabilitation
Requirements Certification as a New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) by the New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB)
