Summary We are seeking a Case Manager to join our Veteran Affairs' group. As a Case Manager you must be highly organized and able to work on a varied caseload, take pride in what you do, and assist the attorney in preparing documents and correspondence as needed.
Compensation for this role is $20 per hour.
Responsibilities Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics
Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow
Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice
Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney
Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar and making travel arrangements
Qualifications High school diploma or GED
Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
Prior experience as a case manager in a Veteran Affairs department (preferred)
At least 1 year of working legal, medical, or social services experience (preferred)
Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills
