Overview Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a Care Manager/Designated Care Manager responsible for providing high-quality care and services to a consistent group of residents and their families in assisted living/long term care and reminiscence neighborhoods. The role supports the Mission: to champion quality of life for all seniors, in accordance with laws, Sunrise standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities Resident Care: document and learn about residents through Daily Log, participate in ISP development and updates, review assignments, manage a designated group of residents during the shift, observe and document changes in residents’ condition, respond to security and call bells, greet and communicate with residents, families, and team members, assist with continence management, promote independence and dignity, lead/assist ADLs and reminiscence activities, engage residents in daily life skills, maintain a warm and safe home-like environment, ensure safety regulations and infection control practices are followed.
Risk Management and General Safety: ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, practice PPE usage, report accidents and hazards, keep pathways clear and safe, manage exposure risks and safe storage of oxygen.
Housekeeping and Laundry: maintain and clean resident rooms, launder resident clothing, handle dining room linens, complete assigned housekeeping tasks, keep common areas tidy.
Dining Service: serve and assist in dining rooms, ensure a pleasant dining experience, follow ISPs/diet boards, monitor dining habits, provide room service as needed, maintain safe food handling.
Reminiscence Neighborhood: support residents with life skills and enriching activities, encourage attendance at social events, integrate life skills into daily routines and multi-sensory experiences.
Training and Team Contribution: participate as a team member, uphold Team Member Credo and Principles of Service, assist with engagement programs and surveys, attend meetings and trainings, comply with infection control and regulatory requirements, maintain required trainings, perform other duties as assigned.
Core Competencies: stay calm under pressure, manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, plan and organize, exercise good judgment and problem solving.
Qualifications High School diploma/GED (as required by state/provincial regulations).
CPR and First Aid as required by regulations.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Prior experience with seniors preferred; strong desire to serve and care for seniors.
Ability to make decisions in the resident's best interest; certified Sunrise driving prerequisites if applicable.
